We have learned a little bit more about the situation at Two Rivers High School yesterday.
Police Chief Brian Kohlmeier was on WOMT’s Be My Guest program this morning where he said that the death of the boy in the pool area is still under investigation.
“We responded to Two Rivers High School between 1:00 and 2:00 p.m.,” he explained. “The report was a medical emergency in the pool area, and upon arrival, they discovered an unresponsive male that had been pulled from the pool.”
The yet unidentified young man was taken to a local hospital where he later died.
As far as when more details will be released, the Chief said that the cause of death is determined by the coroner’s office and the results of the autopsy and other tests could take eight to twelve weeks.
“I know in these situations it is very difficult,” the Chief said. “People want a lot of answers. We do too, but these things, unfortunately, take a little bit of time, and of course, everybody wants to make sure that we do things right.”
We have reached out to the Two Rivers School District Superintendent for comment, but have not been able to make contact as of yet.
