The U-W Milwaukee women’s basketball team has advanced to the semifinals of the Women’s Basketball Invitational with a 67-57 win at Saint Francis of Pennsylvania. The Panthers made 12 of 14 free throws to preserve a lead down the stretch, and Jamie Reit made a key three pointer with 39 seconds left. Reit scored a career high 15 points, including eleven in the second half, as U-W-M tied a program record for victories in a season with 22 against eleven losses. Jessica Kovatch scored 17 for Saint Francis, which ended its season at 17-15. Milwaukee won only its second game in its postseason history, and will play North Carolina Greensboro on Thursday night in the final four of the 16 W-B-I tournament teams.
