Several families brought photos of drunk-driving victims to an Assembly hearing room Thursday, asking Wisconsin lawmakers to pass stiffer penalties for the crime. Three bills are being considered by the Assembly Criminal Justice Committee.  The families spoke of lives cut short and moments they would always remember.  One father told lawmakers, “it’s criminal to allow it to go on.”  Although some opponents question the expense of the legislation, supporters say it’s aimed at stopping people from driving drunk — not necessarily putting more people in Wisconsin prisons.
