It’s not required by Common Core education standards, but many school districts are still teaching students to write in cursive.  Elementary students in Eau Claire, Chippewa Falls, Altoona and the Regis Catholic schools are taught that form of writing.  Officials in the Eau Claire school district say people hear that some districts have stopped and they think that means all schools.  It doesn’t.  Cursive teaching is paired with keyboarding lessons, which start in the third grade in Eau Claire and Altoona.
