Bail was set at $2000 recognizance bond for a 52- year- old Manitowoc woman in connection with a domestic violence incident over the week end. Maria del Carme Cordero is charged with battery to law enforcement—battery (domestic violence oriented) and disorderly conduct.  Police responded to a domestic disturbance call at a residence in the 1600 block of south Tenth street around 9:30 Saturday evening. Upon arrival they found her partner Richard Figueroua locked in a room hiding from her and bleeding. Officers say Cordero was intoxicated —breaking things and trying to attack him. Police say she threw a vacuum cleaner at Figueroa as they escorted him out of the house.  As police were trying to restrain her she struck one of them and threw his radio on the ground. She was eventually detained and taken into custody. The officer was not hurt while Figueroa suffered a laceration to his left cheek and refused medical treatment. Conditions of bail are that Cordero provide photos and prints from MPD within 72 hours of release— have no contact with Figueroa and maintain absolute sobriety.  Her initial appearance is scheduled for May first at 2:30.
