A Manitowoc man was on the receiving end of a shooting in Appleton yesterday. Police responded to a call of shots fired in the 2900 block of North Union Street just after 1:00 PM. Witnesses say they heard multiple gunshots during the incident. Police found the 35 year old Manitowoc man outside of an apartment, and he was rush to the hospital. He is expected to survive, while a suspect was picked by police an hour and a half later. Police ordered a lockdown of local public and private schools as a precaution while they searched for the suspect. The lockdown was lifted at around 2:30, after the schools were notified of the arrest.
