A Democrat who got 30-percent of the vote against House Speaker Paul Ryan of Janesville last November will not seek a rematch in 2018. Iraq War veteran Ryan Solen of Mount Pleasant cited personal health issues in his announcement Sunday. He says he’ll get behind political analyst and commentator David Yankovich, who has said he’s thinking about running against Ryan after a crowdfunding political action committee was created to raise funds for him. Ryan is in his 19th year in the House representing far southern and southeast Wisconsin. He was Mitt Romney’s vice presidential running mate in 2012, and he was elected House speaker late in 2015.
