Manitowoc’s Rahr-West Art Museum will be hosting a very rare exhibit starting next month. Executive Director Greg Vadney tells us that the entire 38 print LeCirque series done by late impressionist artist Marc Chagall, will open at the Rahr-West on Sunday, June 11th. Vadney says he’s expecting great interest in Chagall’s renderings of a Parisian circus.
The museum’s Executive Director also says to help open the exhibit on June 11th, Vivian Jacobson of Chicago, who personally knew Chagall before his death in the mid-1980’s will be at the Rahr-West that day for a reception and presentation. It’s free bu the museum would like to know how many people will be attending. To reserve a place, either call the Rahr West at 920-686-3090 or go to http://www.rahrwestartmuseum.org.
