Crescent Woolen Mills of Two Rivers will be closing their doors soon. The custom spinner of wool and synthetic yarns will shut down operations at the end of June unless a new buyer is found in that time. The cause of the shutdown is that they can no longer financially continue to operated due to sporting good stores around the country closing their doors, or consolidating, as well as the many places buying their yarn from the Caribbean or China, because it is cheaper. The Webster family, who own the mill, released a written statement saying, “Crescent wishes to thank all of their present and past employees fpor their dedication and efforts in making Crescent Woolen Mills one of the most recognized names in the textile industry.”
