Johnsonville and the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation announced this morning (Wednesday) that they are expanding their global corporate headquarters in Sheboygan Falls. The 49,000 square foot addition will allow the area business to significantly expand its investment in engineering, research and development and marketing as they prepare for additional growth in their domestic, international and food service businesses. WEDC is supporting the expansion by awarding Johnsonville up to $10 million in state income tax credits over the next five years based upon a number of factors, including the number of jobs created – the amount of capital investment it makes – and the amount to be spent on employee training through 2021. Johnsonville’s owner & Chair Ralph Slayer says “This project will provide much needed capacity to support the tremendous growth we’ve experienced over the last 10 years. Thanks to the state’s favorable business climate, we can keep growing in Sheboygan County.” The company currently has over 1200 employees with plans to add nearly 100 jobs over the next five years. Construction is expected to be complete by the end of this year.
