Two teenagers faces multiple charges as the result of a vehicle pursuit early this morning (yesterday). Manitowoc county deputy inspector Jason Orth tells us that around 12:45 the county joint dispatch center received a report of a stolen vehicle from the 1200 block of North 13th street. A few minutes later a sheriff’s deputy located the vehicle travelling northbound on north Rapids Road and attempted to conduct a traffic stop on county road R. That’s when the youth accelerated reaching speeds of up to 115 miles per hour before losing control near Novy Road in the town of Gibson. The unit spun 180 degrees into the opposite lane attempted to make a “u” turn but ended up in the ditch and got stuck and the 14- year- old was taken into custody. His passenger identified as 17- year- old Aaron Darius Booker of Manitowoc fled on foot and apprehended moments later. He was arrested for a felony and non-felony bench warrant from a previous charge of operating a vehicle without the owner’s consent. Booker is also charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and is being held in the county jail in lieu of $1250 cash bail. The juvenile operator is charged with fleeing an officer—recklessly endangering safety—operating without owner’s consent—operating under the influence of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. He’s being held in the Sheboygan county juvenile detention center pending his next court appearance.
