UW Manitowoc County Campus was the site of a renovation kick off ceremony and picnic Tuesday afternoon. The $5 million dollar renovation project became officially underway after a sledge hammer was swung into a ceremonial wall. This renovation project will focus on transforming space in the original UW building, Founders Hall, into a more learning friendly environment for students. Carla Rabe, the associate Dean and campus administrator  said that the renovation will give the campus “state of the art science and art facilities” as well as a “top notch learning commons library.” The land and campus buildings are owned by Manitowoc County, while the University supplies the faculty and learning. Official dedication ceremonies are being planned for January of 2018 when construction is completed.
