Glenn Haley has been named interim CEO for the Manitowoc Two Rivers YMCA, its board of directors announced on Wednesday.  Steve Smith, the organization’s former CEO, accepted the position of CEO of the Cass and Clay Counties YMCA in Fargo, ND, last month.

Glenn will take over as interim CEO effective May 23, 2017.  He retired as President and CEO of the YMCA of Greater Cleveland in July 2016, where he managed 12 full-facility branch units, 2 program centers, 28 child development centers, and 3 municipality recreation centers. Collectively those sites and centers served over 88,000 members and 97,000 community participants.  Glenn oversaw a $26 million budget, as well as 178 full-time and 800 part-time employees.

Prior to being the President and CEO of the Cleveland YMCA, Glenn served as a YMCA of the USA Consultant to member associations. Glenn arrived to the YMCA of the USA from the Birmingham YMCA where he served as the Senior Vice President of Operations.

He has successfully completed three capital campaigns for a total of $26 million.  Additionally he has completed three municipality collaborations that raised a total of $21 million to construct three additional YMCA’s.  He also completed a merger of two YMCA’s in Ohio in 2012.

Mr. Haley is committed to advancing the mission of the YMCA and collaborating with community organizations to strengthen the Manitowoc Two Rivers area.

Christopher Stream, the Manitowoc-Two Rivers YMCA Board Chair, added:  “We are fortunate to have an individual of Glenn’s caliber guide our organization through the interim period as we conduct a search for our next full-time CEO.  Glenn brings with him a wealth of YMCA leadership experience and has a proven track record of success.  We are excited for him to start and look forward to the leadership he will provide.”
