The Milwaukee Brewers have a two game winning streak after beating Arizona 9-5 at home Sunday to split their four game series with the Diamondbacks. Domingo Santana hit his first career grand slam — every Brewers’ starting player got at least one hit except for Hernan Perez — Jimmy Nelson struck out ten in seven innings to even his mark at 3-3 — and Jacob Barnes pitched the final four outs to earn his second save. Manny Pina went three for five with a double, as the Brewers now lead the National League Central by one and one half games above Saint Louis and the Chicago Cubs. Santana’s homer broke Sunday’s game open in the fourth inning, giving Milwaukee a 6-1 lead which grew to 8-1 by the time Arizona scored four in the eighth — and Brandon Drury went three for three as the “D” Backs dropped to 10-13 on the road. The Brewers have a 13-8 road record, which they’ll put to the test in a four game series against the Mets in New York starting late this (Monday) afternoon.
