Three Chicago area men charged with attempted homicide & false imprisonment in Manitowoc County made their initial court appearances yesterday. 28 year old Marne Ferry, 28 year old Christopher Calalang and 34 year old Christian Calalang are accused of taking 57 year old Jose Realzea against his will this spring and driving from Chicago to the Manitowoc area where he was beaten, thrown into a nearby ditch and abandoned. Realzea was able to walk to a town of Newton residence for help and was transported to a local hospital for treatment of serious injuries. The three suspects were taken into custody by the Chicago FBI Office May 12th on felony warrants then transported to the Manitowoc County Jail. No motive was given for the crimes. They remain in jail in lieu of $250,00 cash bail each and are due back in court for preliminary hearings June 28th.
