Area fire crews responded to a house fire in Valders yesterday morning. Crews arrived at 4107 Marken Road at around 9:50, where heavy smoke and flames were seen from the backside of the home. The blaze was subdued in the matter of around 2 hours, leaving a cat dead inside. There were no people home at the time of the blaze, but three unidentified firefighters were injured during their efforts to control the inferno. Two firefighters suffered from heat stroke, with one of them being taken to the hospital, along with one member of the crew that injured his shoulder. The home is reported to be a complete loss. Although there does not appear to be anything suspicious about the blaze, the cause still being investigated.
