It has been a long time coming, but demolition on the Miro Building in Manitowoc will finally begin on Monday. On Friday, however, there will be a ceremony to commemorate the city landmark, where people can hear remarks from city leaders and project managers. The ceremony will begin at 3:00 on the corner of South 15th Street and Franklin Street, and the first 100 to attend will receive a commemorative brick from the building. The demolition is expected to cost $3.3 million, and will open up a 5 acre plot for future development.
