Two teens from Two Rivers were held at gunpoint after the male driver attempted to elude Manitowoc police on Sunday evening. The incident began at around 9:20 pm after an officer spotted a vehicle at the intersection of South 19th and Washington Streets with a driver’s side light out. There were three people in the vehicle, a male driver and one male and one female passenger. When the officer tried to stop the vehicle, the driver accelerated north across Washington Street. The driver was able to elude the officer, but thanks to a tip from a witness, he was able to relocate the vehicle leaving a gas station parking lot. After another chase, the vehicle eventually stopped and the officer held the vehicle at gun point until backup could arrive. Police are recommending charges of fleeing/elude officer against the 18 year old driver.
