The National Weather Service now says a tornado touched down Monday night in Fond du Lac County. According to a preliminary review, an “E-F Zero” tornado with peak winds of 80 miles-an-hour was on the ground for two-point-two miles between Waucosta and Dundee. A waterspout also occurred as the twister moved across Kettle Moraine Lake while heading southeast toward the Kettle Moraine State Forest. The Weather Service says the tornado was part of a series of heavy thunderstorms in the area, in which a fallen tree damaged a vehicle inside a garage in Oakfield, and trees fell onto a house and two cars in Mayville. Other storms also went through southern Wisconsin Tuesday — and three quarter inch hail fell near Jackson around 2:20 this (Wednesday) morning.
