In the Northwoods League, Wisconsin Rapids continues a torrid start to its season with a 6-3 home victory in Wausau against the Wisconsin Woodchucks on Sunday. Rapids, the defending league champion, won a team record 14 straight games before losing to the Woodchucks 4-2 Saturday night. Jake Guenther hit a two run homer and a run scoring fielder’s choice, as Wisconsin Rapids improved to 17-2 in the summer league of top college players. Rapids now has a four and one half game lead on Kenosha and Battle Creek in the South Division, while Waterloo has a two and one half game edge in the North.
