Manitowoc Man Arrested After Attempting to Steal Steak

A Manitowoc man finds himself behind bars after attempting to steal steak from a local grocery store. 36 year old Brent Boers entered the store with his girlfriend on Friday. The two were seen grabbing items from the produce section, then making their way to the meat department. While there, Boers was seen selecting a slab of beef tenderloin, and placed it in his pants. The pair then paid for the produce, but not the steak. When they attempted to leave the store, an employee confronted Boers, who handed over the $26 steak. Because Boers had an open misdemeanor battery case, he was charged with bail jumping on top of his second retail theft charge.
