An Oshkosh man is sent to jail on a 75-thousand dollar cash bond, after being charged with hiding the corpse of a woman who died after taking drugs. Prosecutors say 36-year-old Trisha Baniel died last week at the Oshkosh home of 38-year-old Angel Arriaga, after the two and another friend took heroin and marijuana. Officials say Baniel later fell asleep, and Arriaga tried to find the heroin antidote Narcan but couldn’t — and after he saw that the woman was not breathing the next morning, he allegedly covered her with a sheet, locked her in the room she was in, and never called for help for fear he’d go to jail. An autopsy did not determine Baniel’s cause of death, but toxicology test results are still pending. Arriaga is due back in Winnebago County Circuit Court next Monday for a preliminary hearing on felony charges of hiding and corpse and bail jumping.
