*UPDATE* According to a reliable source, Thomas Sitkiewitz underwent back surgery on Thursday to stabilize his neck, and is now out of the ICU. Mr. Sitkiewitz is still bruised from head to toe, but doing better.
The Manitowoc Police Department has received requests to release the names of the persons involved in the motorcycle/bicycle crash that occurred on July 10 on Memorial Dr at Lilac Dr. The driver of the bicycle was a 74-year old Manitowoc resident, Thomas Sitkiewitz. He sustained serious injuries and is currently recovering from those injuries. The driver of the motorcycle was a 20-year old Valders resident, Samuel Koenig. He sustained minor injuries. Accoriding to eyewitnesses, Thomas Sitkiewitz failed to stop at a stop sign, causing the accident.
