There will be a new state champion at the W-I-A-A high school summer baseball finals. Two time defending champ Menomonee Falls lost to top seeded West Bend West 7-3 in Monday evening’s sectional finals. West Bend West will play Franklin in Friday’s state semifinals at Kapco Park in Mequon, after the Number two seed Franklin won its sectional final against Muskego 9-3. Kiel and Milwaukee Marquette will face each other in the other semi, as top seeded Marquette advanced with an 8-0 shutout of Waukesha North — while third seeded Kiel upset Number One New Holstein 8-2. The fourth Number One seed, Oak Creek, lost earlier Monday to Muskego 6-1 in the Sweet 16 sectional round.
