An autopsy is scheduled today (Monday) for six-year-old Justin Evans Junior, Milwaukee’s youngest shooting death victim so far this year. Police say he was killed about 6 p-m Saturday outside his grandmother’s house on Milwaukee’s north side, just as he was about to leave for a fishing trip with his stepfather. On Sunday, city and community group leaders joined Justin’s family and friends to mourn — and once again, they called for an end to gun violence. Mayor Tom Barrett says it’s up to the neighborhood and the city to make things safer — and he noted that the city can no longer wait for help that’s “not coming” from the state and federal governments. Justin Evans Junior is the 64th murder victim in Milwaukee this year, five fewer than at this time last year.
