Demolition of the Mirro Building in downtown Manitowoc was delayed for a short time last week, due to the appearance of a sinkhole. The sinkhole appeared on Franklin Street, and Community Development Director Nic Sparacio said its not known if it was caused by the amount of rain the city has been hit with, or because of the demo in progress. The hole was less than a foot wide, and was fixed immediately. Sparacio says that other than that minor hiccup, the demo has been running as smooth as possible.
