Cork made in southeastern Wisconsin will be used in the heat shield on the crew capsule and rocket for a spacecraft being built for deep space missions. Amorim Cork in Trevor is working with other NASA contractors on the project. The newest version of the spacecraft is being designed for missions like a manned flight to Mars. Amorim employees 80 people who make cork products used in everything from sports flooring to automotive gaskets. NASA officials say thousands of American businesses are involved in the project .
