The Milwaukee Brewers have won their first home series against Saint Louis in five years. The Crew took two of three from the Redbirds at Miller Park, as a 2-1 victory Thursday ended a string of 13 straight home series’ losses to the Cards. It also put Milwaukee back in the National League Central race, with the Brewers now trailing the first place Chicago Cubs by just one and a half games. Keon Broxton broke a 1-1 tie by hitting an R-B-I single in the fifth and Jesus Aguilar had a solo homer for the Crew — while Greg Garcia singled home the only Saint Louis run in the top of the fifth. Matt Garza evened his mark to 5-5 by fanning seven in five and two thirds innings — Corey Knebel earned his 20th save — and Brett Cecil took the loss in relief.
