Brandon Woodruff is being called up from Triple “A” to start for the Brewers tonight (Friday), replacing a struggling Junior Guerra who was sent down to the minors. The 24-year-old Woodruff is getting a second chance to make his big league debut after he couldn’t start at Saint Louis June 13th because he hurt a hamstring while warming up. The Brewers also said catcher Jett Bandy has a broken rib after he was hit by a pitch last Sunday and he’s expected to go on the ten day disabled list. Also, outfielder Kirk Nieuwenhuis and reliever Wily Peralta have both cleared waivers, and they’ve been sent outright to Triple “A” Colorado Springs. Both players were designated for assignment in the wake of struggles and injuries.
