The Milwaukee Brewers fail to sweep Tampa Bay with a 2-1 road loss Sunday — but the Crew is still a half game behind first place Chicago in the N-L Central after the Cubs lost at home to Washington. Steven Souza, Junior homered on the second pitch in the bottom of the ninth from Jacob Barnes for the Rays’ first walkoff homer since May of 2014. The loss dropped Barnes to 3-3 and it ruined a solid start from Jimmy Nelson, who struck out nine in eight innings but gave up Milwaukee’s first run in 23 frames when Wilson Ramos grounded into a double play and drove in the Rays’ first run in the second. Orlando Arcia homered for the Brewers’ only run, as the Crew went oh for eight with runners in scoring position to lose its second game in its last six. Milwaukee opens a four game home and home series with Minnesota tonight (Monday).
