Bail is set at $500 cash for a 40- year- old Manitowoc man facing multiple charges after allegedly attacking another male on the city’s southside. Edward C. Miller is charged with substantial battery—disorderly conduct —possession of drug paraphernalia and two counts each of felony bail jumping and use of a facsimile firearm. Police were doing a welfare check in the 1200 block of South 11th Street shortly before six last (Wednesday) evening when they were approached by a male who was bleeding from the mouth saying he had been pistol whipped by Miller—his girlfriend’s ex-boy friend. The victim also stated that Miller had pointed a gun in his girlfriend’s face. Officers were led to Miller’s room where drug paraphernalia was found and he was taken into custody without incident. Conditions of bail are that Miller have no contact with the victim or residence and maintain absolute sobriety. His initial appearance is scheduled for Monday afternoon at 2:30.
