Despite a state ban on feeding deer being lifted last week in several counties including Manitowoc, the county’s ordinance remains in effect. Deputy Inspector Jason Orth says a discussion has taken place with county board chairperson Jim Brey who will be reviewing the matter with the county land conservation/natural resources committee to discuss if changes should be made to the current ordinance. In the meantime, the sheriff’s office reiterates that the county ban on feeding deer remains in place. The latest information can be heard on WCUB radio—seehafernews.com or on the county website under meeting agendas and minutes.
