The Miracle League on the Lakeshore is where children ages four to 19 who live with a physical or intellectual disability get to play the game of baseball on a customized field on South 35th Street. Hundreds of people elated that donald driver— the Green Bay Packers all time leading receiver and Packer Hall of Famer came to visit for the first time to see what his $25 thousand donation from the Donald Driver Foundation helped fund. Yesterday’s stop was part of Driver’s “thank you fans” tour—the first tour of its kind for a professional athlete. The New York times best-selling author and Dancing with the Stars champion threw out the first pitch before last night’s game adding “Before I retired I said I wanted to be engrained in the state of Wisconsin and I’m not going any time soon so if the fans keep having me I’ll keep coming around.” Driver retired in 2012.
