McCarthy: Packers Still Need A Lot Of Work

They may be 2-0 in the preseason, but Packers’ coach Mike McCarthy says his team still has a lot of room for improvement. McCarthy said his young running backs did better with pass protection in getting yards after contact in Saturday night’s 21-17 win at Washington. And with more competition at corner, the unit played well even with Damarious Randall and Davon House out due to injuries. McCarthy says second year pro Josh Hawkins graded best among the corners, with three pass breakups and one tackle for loss against the Redskins. Meanwhile, the Packers have moved their two public practices for this week, as Tuesday’s workout now begins at 3:15 and Wednesday’s at 12:45.
