Discovery of Remains Leads to Murder Probe

The death of a woman whose remains were found in Racine County is being investigated as a homicide. Sheriff’s officials say they have several persons of interest in custody, and they’re working with Milwaukee County officers to get to the bottom of Audrey Scott’s death. Scott, a 28-year-old Milwaukee woman, was last seen July fourth arguing with a man at a tavern in downtown Milwaukee. Her remains were found Wednesday next to a frontage road close to Interstate 94 in southern Racine County. An autopsy has been conducted but the cause of her death has not been released — and officials have only said that her death was “suspicious.”
