North Fond du Lac Man Sentenced for Abusing Child

A North Fond du Lac man gets 15 years behind bars for abusing his girlfriend’s child. Television station W-B-A-Y reports that 37-year-old Jason J. Schifelbine appeared in court today (Friday) for a sentencing hearing. He was also ordered to spend 10 years on extended supervision following his release from prison. The North Fond du Lac Police Department was called to St. Agnes Hospital in August 2014 to investigate a report of an abused child. The victim had brain swelling and bruises on the chest and abdomen. Schifelbine, a registered sex offender, claimed the baby had fallen off a counter. Doctors also found older bruising on the child’s forehead, eyes, cheeks, and genitals. In June, a jury found Schifelbine guilty of a charge of physical abuse of a child.
