22 years ago, six men were found guilty of murdering Tom Monfils, and now one of those men is out on parole. 76 year old Dale Basten will be living in an assisted living facility after the Department of Corrections decided his mental status had worsened to the point where he did not know what he had done wrong. According to a DoC document, Basten was unaware of his surroundings and communicated very little. Basten is the second of the so called “Monfils Six” to be released from prison. Back in 2001 Michal Piaskowski had his conviction overturned for lack of evidence.
