Stricker About To Make Two President’s Cup Picks

U-S President’s Cup team captain Steve Stricker of Madison will announce his two picks today (Wednesday) for the international golf event later this month in New Jersey. Ten automatic bids have already been set, and Stricker has said he would most likely choose the eleventh player on the Cup’s point list — which is now Charley Hoffman. That leaves one more selection, and some observers believe he’ll name Phil Mickelson who’s 15th on the points list. Mickelson had his best finish since March when he took sixth this past weekend in the Dell Technologies Championship as part of the P-G-A Fed Ex Cup playoffs.
