Former state government watchdog Mike McCabe announces his run for governor at the Clark County farm where he grew up. The former head of the Wisconsin Democracy Campaign said he does not belong to a particular party, but his biggest opportunity is to run as a Democrat. Otherwise, he would face a Republican primary against a well established and well funded incumbent in Scott Walker. McCabe appeared at the Judy Derrico farm near Curtiss, which his parents sold once he graduated from Owen/Withee High School in 1979. McCabe is in a crowded Democratic field that includes state school Superintendent Tony Evers, State Representative Dana Wachs, and businessman Andy Gronik.
