A Wisconsin Senate committee was expected to vote today (Tuesday) on a bill to let people carry concealed weapons without state permits and training. The judiciary panel will consider sending the measure to the full Senate for a vote. A similar bill in the state Assembly had a public hearing in late May, but it got stalled as lawmakers were pressed with the new state budget and an incentive package for Foxconn. Republican Governor Scott Walker has said he’s comfortable with the current requirements for concealed carry permits and training mandates — but he did not say whether he would veto the new measure once it gets to his desk. The bill would also let certain people carry guns on public school property.
