A bridge on the Wisconsin/Minnesota border will take longer to fix than expected. The Osceola Bridge at Minnesota Highway 243 was supposed to reopen Thursday — but transportation officials in the Gopher State say crews need more time, so the reopening has been pushed back to October sixth, weather permitting. The bridge, which leads to Highway 35 on the Wisconsin side, has been closed since September 12th while crews restore and resurface the bridge deck and hillside erosion. In late July, the bridge was closed for three days for emergency repairs after a hole was found on the bridge. For now, motorists are being asked to cross the Saint Croix River on Highway Eight at Saint Croix Falls and Taylors Falls.
