The N-F-L’s national anthem controversy is causing major headaches for a popular Racine restaurant. That’s after John Valko, one of four owners of the Reefpoint Brew House, wrote on Facebook that football players who kneel for the anthem are “nothing but garbage” and “stupid misfits” who “need to die” and should “kneel in front of a freight train.” The Racine Journal Times says the comment was deleted but some readers saved it and posted it below a statement from the other three owners who “strongly disagree” with what Valko wrote. Owners Tom and Patti Landreman and Megan Bennett issued a statement that drew criticism for what they admitted was “too light” — so they issued a stronger statement that they’re doing “everything internally to disassociate themselves and their business with John Valko, who has not commented.
