The Milwaukee Brewers close out their best season since 2011 with a 6-1 victory at Saint Louis Sunday. Brewers’ rookie Aaron Wilkerson pitched a perfect game until two out in the sixth when Jose Martinez singled. Randal Grichuk’s solo homer in the seventh was the only other hit the 28-year-old Wilkerson gave up as he went seven frames to win his first Major League victory in his third career start. Brett Phillips hit a three run homer and Jesus Aguilar had a two run blast, as Milwaukeee ended its season at 86-76 in second place in the N-L Central six games back. Manager Craig Counsell and veteran outfielder Ryan Braun both say they expect higher expectations in 2018 after the Brewers had unexpected success in just the third year of their rebuilding mode.
