More details have been released about the house fire that took place in Rockwood on Sunday afternoon. The home, located at 5704 County Road, belonged to 89 year old Garnet Larocque (la-ROCK), who lived alone. The fire was first seen by a passing firefighter, who called it in and got Larocque out safely. No one was injured from the fire, but it’s unknown if the cats that resided inside survived. The cause is officially listed as undetermined by the state Fire Marshall, and the home is considered a total loss.
