C-N-N says a number of the Russian linked Facebook ads for last fall’s presidential election were targeted to Wisconsin and Michigan. And as part of their investigation, Special Counsel Robert Mueller and congressional panels are trying to find out if Donald Trump’s associates gave any help to the Russians in targeting the ads — which were said to have anti Muslim messages aimed at breaking through the intense clutter of the Trump/Clinton campaign. Post election surveys show that Wisconsin, Michigan, and Pennsylvania all gave Trump close wins — and they were decisive because all three states carried a Republican to the White House for the first time in decades. Facebook earlier said about one quarter of the three-thousand ads bought by Russians were targeted to specific areas, but it did not say where. The White House has not commented on the C-N-N story.
