Manitowoc police are asking for information in connection to an attempted armed robbery at a local business this week. Sgt. Bruce Jacobs says about 2:45 Wednesday afternoon officers were dispatched to “Check into Cash” at 3011 Calumet Avenue for an activated teller panic alarm. As officers were en route an “on duty” teller reported that an attempted robbery had just occurred at the southside business. Police say that the suspect had concealed his face—displayed a firearm and fled westbound on foot towards a vehicle. The suspect is described as a black male approximately five-foot-seven inches tall with a slender build and wearing dark clothing. Anyone with information leading to the arrest of the person(s) responsible for this crime can become eligible to receive up to a $500 cash reward by calling Crimestoppers at 683-4466 or Manitowoc Police at 686-6551. Callers can choose to remain anonymous.
