Convicted killer Steven Avery’s attorney has filed a motion saying the defense has more evidence it wants to test — and prosecutors have agreed to the testing. The motion was filed in response to the judge’s decision denying Avery a new trial in the murder of Teresa Halbach. Avery and his nephew, Brendan Dassey, were both convicted of first-degree intentional homicide in separate trials 10 years ago. Prosecutors said both men raped and murdered photographer Halbach on the family property in 2005. The case assumed a high profile when Netflix released the docu-series “Making a Murderer.” Avery claims evidence was planted.
