Last week, the U.S. Department of Education announced that Wisconsin won more the $95 million in the form of a 5 year grant for the Wisconsin Charter Schools Program. The largest grant in the country this year will support growth of high quality charter schools, strengthen and improve charter authorizing quality and promote and support collaboration and sharing the best practices across the state. Over the five-year grant period, the Wisconsin Charter Schools Program will support the opening of 80 new or replicated quality charter schools and the expansion of 27 high-quality charter schools in the state.
