A newly elected Milwaukee County circuit judge has been told to take all the time she needs to deal with the death of her husband. Ozaukee County sheriff’s deputies have not confirmed that 41-year-old Long Thao was the man who died Saturday night after his S-U-V hit a limo bus on Interstate 43 near Belgium. But Judge Kashoua Yang asked her campaign manager to handle media inquiries — and he says her family is devastated. Chief Judge Maxine White says the Milwaukee court system is mourning Yang’s loss. She was elected in April and took office in August, becoming only the second Hmong American judge in the nation.
