The Manitowoc Lincoln Boys Soccer team closed out the regular season with a win last night. The Ships defeated host Algoma 2-0 on an unassisted goal by Billy Kronschnabel and a score by Zach Goetz assisted by Josh Gutman. Lincoln finished the regular season 11-9-2 overall and 3-6 in the FRCC. The Ships will meet 7th seeded Homestead in Maquon Thursday in the opening round of the WIAA Division 1 Regional Tournament. In other tournament matchups, in Division 3, Little Chute is visiting the Roncalli/Two Rivers co-op, Kiel is at Luxemburg-Casco, and Denmark is traveling to Wautoma/Wild Rose. In Division 4, Kewaunee will host Gresham/Bowler. All matchups begin at 4:00 PM.
It’s also Tournament opening night for many local and area girls volleyball teams. In Division 2, Two Rivers will travel to Shawano, Valders is on the road to face Peshtigo, Kiel will travel o Chilton, and Sturgeon Bay is at Denmark. In Division 3, Roncalli will go to Howards Grove, Mishicot is at Brillion, Reedsville is at Southern Door, Kohler will travel to Oostburg, and top seeded Manitowoc Lutheran has a first round bye. Matchups begin at 7:00 PM.
